GAME 12 - Bangalore Royal Challengers v Rajasthan Royals
April 28th 2008 05:07
BANGALORE 8/135 (Taylor 44, P.Kumar 34 - Watson 2/20 M.Patel 2/20 Warne 1/23)
RAJASTHAN 3/138 (Watson 61no Smith 49 - Z.Khan 1/24)
RAJASTHAN won by 7 wickets with 17 balls to spare.
This game should be re-named the Shane Watson show - in a superb allround effort the big blonde Queensland Allrounder bowled superbly taking 2 wickets in an economical spell then hammered an unbeaten 60 to ensure victory for his team.
Othr than kiwi Rod Taylor's 44 the Bangalore top order failed miserably and left there bowlers a task to try and contain Rajasthan. Dravid and Chanderpaul at the top of the order both failed again and have had pretty dissappointing tournaments.
Along with Watson's allround effort the Rajasthan team was again lifted by another great spin bowling performance by there captain Shane Warne and the top order again got off to a good start courtesy of South African captain Graeme Smith.
Rajasthan is starting to make some of the more expensive franchises look stupid while Bangalore are really looking like strugglers
