GAME 26 - Chennai Super Kings v Deccan Chargers
May 10th 2008 13:58
CHENNAI 7/144 (Raina 32, Morkel 29 no, Dhoni 23 - RP Singh 2/12)
HYDERABAD 3/148 (Gilchrist 52, Styris 36no - Muralitharan 1/24)
HYDERABAD wins by 7 wickets with 12 balls to spare
Another great Gilchrist innings (the second of the tournament) sees the Deccan Chargers get another win (they only seem to win when Gilly gets going).
In truth this win was set up by a superb all round bowling performance from the Hyderabad team.. Led by RP Singh's brilliant 2/12 all the bowlers bowled with discipline and took wickets to slow and frustrate the Chennai total. Raina and Morkel were again in the runs as was Dhoni but no one went on with it and so they ended up with the mediocre tally of just 144.
With Adam Gilchrist scoring a 50 the total was always going to be easy for the Deccan Chargers - he got great support from Styris and the consistantly good Rohit Sharma.
The Deccan Chargers will be hoping this win can be the start of a couple in a row as they languish towards the bottom of the points table. While the Chennai Super Kings will be hoping this is a one off hiccup as they sit towards the top half of the table.
