KINGS XI PUNJAB win by 7 wickets with 7 balls remaining
These are two of the more fancied teams at the start of the competition and both have struggled at various points though Kings XI Punjab are now really hitting their straps.
Young bowler Piyush Chawla is taking all before him and could well be the next superstar spinner. His efforts along with those of Irfan Pathan limited the powerful hyderabad batting line up to just 164 for 8. Failures in their top order from Gilchrist, Gibbs and Afridi were made up for by another superb batting effort from Rohit Sharma with 76no and the always elegant VVS Luxman with 48.
Chasing the runs Punjab revealled new young West Australian batsman Shaun Marsh whose 84 not out won him the man of the match - he was ably supported by Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene and they were rarely troubled in chasing down the runs.
The Mohali based Kings XI Punjab are storming up the points table and will be a main player come finals time. The Deccan Chargers really need to start posting some wins soon
