GAME 28 - Delhi Daredevils v Chennai Super Kings
May 10th 2008 15:06
DELHI 5/187 (Gambhir 80, Sehwag 23, Dharwan 59 - Morkel 2/35, Balaji 2/35)
CHENNAI 6/188 (Fleming 44, Vidyut 40, Dhoni 33 - Sangwan 2/29)
CHENNAI wins by 4 wickets with no balls to spare
One of the games of the tournament to date - a high scoring encounter which was won on the last ball of the match (can't ask for more than that).
The groundwork for this game was set up by the fantastic Delhi top order who have been the dominant batting line up in the competition. The usual suspects - Gambhir, Dharwan and Sehwag again all made runs and they put the super competitive total of 187 on the board.
This was going to be a challenging total to chase down but Chennai have proven themselves as on of the better teams of the tournament. While they didn't have any one batsman make a 50 they did have a consistant effort down the batting line up and they kept up the require run rate while not losing too many wickets - wonderful batting from Fleming, Vidyut and Dhoni saw them home.
Great result for Chennai who get some momentum back after their loss to the Deccan Chargers last start. Hopefully this is a hiccup for the talented Delhi team.
My feeling is that both these will play in the finals - there is far too much talent and form in these line ups
