GAME 23 - Mumbai Indians v Delhi Daredevils
May 7th 2008 07:01
MUMBAI 8/162 (Jayasuria 34, Pollock 33, Thornley 30 - Mahesh 3/33)
DELHI 133 All out (Sehwag 40, Kartik 28 - Nehra 3/25 Pollock 2/16 Kulkarni 2/18)
MUMBAI win by 29 runs
Delhi must have been confident when they limited the struggling Mumbai line up to 162. The Mumbai total was set up by internationals Jayasuria, Pollock and Thornley. It was a modest total and given the form of the Delhi top order should have not nearly enough.
But the Mumbai bowlers had other ideas - led by Nehra who is having a major renaissance in this tournament Mumbai limited the Delhi top order, getting Sehwag before he did too much damage and removing Gambhir and Dharwan cheaply.
Veteran South African Shaun Pollock won a deserved man of the match for a very fine allround performance with bat and ball.
