Kings XI Punjab Summary

Kings XI Punjab
Well the Kings XI has got an exciting team - led by the enigmatic Youvraj Singh, this team has alot of talent but ultimately it's performance might come down to how well it's enourmously inconsistent captain plays. They do have one of the best coaches going around in Tom Moody and a really solid squad that has a few international superstars and some very cluey domestic selections.
Most likely the team will open with gifted West Indian Ramnaresh Sarwan and left handed Australian Simon Katich. Both these talented cricketers have been around for a while and are currently in the best form of their lives.
The middle order has the two incredibly talented and elegant Sri Lankans Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara. Jayawardene also brings his nouse as a successful national captain while Sangakkara can also keep wickets especially in this shortened form of the game allowing another batsman or bowler. The two Sri Lankans will be re-united with their former national coach in Moody. They will be joined in the middle order by the brilliant but inconsistent Youvraj Singh who can destroy a bowling attack or look worse than ordinary - a case of extremes
. Two young up and coming Aussies will fight out the last recognised batting spot - West Australian team mates (and drinking buddies) Shaun Marsh and Luke Pommersbach have not experienced cricket at an international cricket but again are both coached domestically by Tom Moody.
James Hopes was a great pick up for this team in the second IPL player auction. He showed great skill with bat and ball for the Australian one day team and will definitely play a big part in this competition. Also in the Allrounder class is Irfan Pathan who has shown his ability for india
Brett Lee is one of the great sights in international cricket - steaming in off the long run he is a genuine fast bowler who will thrill the crowds. Piyush Chawla is one of the real finds of world cricket the young Indian is listed as an allrounder but it is skill and control as a leg spinner at such a young age that is exciting cricket fans everywhere (especially in India). Will be watched closely in this competition.
The rest of the pace bowling attack will be made up of Kiwi Kyle Mills and Indian firebrand Sreesanth.
I think this team has huge potential to challenge for the title and will take the fight up to championship favourites the Deccan Chargers
Here is what I think the best XI for the Kings XI would be
1. Simon Katich
2. Ramnaresh Sarwan
3. Kumar Sangakkara (wk)
4. Mahela Jayawardene
5. Yuvraj Singh
6. James Hopes
7. Irfan Pathan
8. Brett Lee
9.Piyush Chawla
10. Kyle Mills
11. Sreesanth
yeah the more I look at this team the more I like their chances.
