GAME 13 - Kings XI Punjab v Delhi Daredevils
April 30th 2008 05:25
DELHI 8/158 (Tiwary 39, Karthik 24 - Lee 1/33 Pathan 2/26 VRV.Singh 3/29)
PUNJAB 6/162 (Katich 75 Yuvraj 40 no - McGrath 1/29 Mohammed Asif 2/39)
KINGS XI PUNJAB won by 4 wickets with 3 balls to spare
Another great bowling performance by Punjab saw them restrain the normally flashy Delhi Daredevil batting line up. All the bowlers did well bowling economically and taking wickets along the way. They contained Delhi to a managable 8/158.
It wasn't a difficult total to cahse but they still had some flutters along the way. They got there largely thanks to a careful knock of 75 from Simon Katich (this IPL tournament seems to be being dominated by Australian batsman which I guess fits with their dominance of international cricket) and an unbeaten 40 from their captain Yuvraj Singh.
Punjab are just starting to look a little dangerous in this competition. Delhi had been flying prior to this game so at this stage we'll say it is a hickup.
