GAME 10 - KingsXI Punjab v Mumbai Indians
April 27th 2008 12:22
KINGS XI PUNJAB 182 all out (Sangakkara 94 - Harbhajan 3/32 Nehra 2/22)
MUMBAI INDIANS 116 all out (Bravo 23 - Sreesanth 2/32 I.Pathan 2/19, Chawla 2/17 Lee
1/9)
KINGS XI PUNJAB won by 66 runs
This match saw the first brilliant innings of Sri Lankan wicket keeper Kumar Sangakkara and it really didn't dissappoint. He hit blazing cricket shots with his trademark elegance - it was a shame he didn't make the magical hundred. He also got very little support from thethe Kings rest of the KingsXI line up - this in part was due to some fine bowling from Ashish Nehra and Harbhajan Singh.
But if their bowling performance was good the Kings XI were outstanding - led by Brett Lee all the bowlers were brilliant taking wickets and ending the Mumbai Charge before it began. The Kings XI Punjab are back on track while the Mumbai Indians are really suffering without their star and brand ambassador (god that's a stupid title) Sachin Tendulkar.
As a footnote to this game Harbhajan Singh has become the first player to be crought before the tribunal for misconduct. While there is no footage of it - he has alledgedly slapped Sreesanth in the face and there is footage of the Indian and KingsXI bowler in tears. Harbhajan has proved himself to be a loser and a thug - the Australians were 100% right about him and now he has to face the consequencs. More about this in future posts
