May 8th 2008 08:17
CHENNAI 109 all out (Morkel 42, Raina 27 - Tanvir 6/14 M.Patel 2/16 Watson 1/19)
RAJASTHAN 2/110 (Smith 35, Asnodkar 32 - Muralitharan 1/20)
RAJASTHAN win by 8 wickets with 34 balls remaning
Wow - the high flying Chennai Super Kings came crashing down to earth with a batting collapse of monumental proportions. Chennai were all out for a paltry 109. Only Morkel and Raina offered any resistance with the bat.
While all the Rajasthan bowlers played their part the hero was Pakistan allrounder Tanvir. Tanvir took an astonishing 6 for 14 - by far the best individual bowling figure of the tournament to date. His superb bowling effort made him an easy choice for man of the match.
Rajasthan chased down the small total only losing two wickets. Easy work was made of the chase with Smith and Asnodkar making sure of victory.
The Chennai Superkings are still flying high though this will come as a big reality check. The initially unfancied Rajasthan Royals are now looking like champions and are settled at the top end of the table.
