GAME 30 - Rajasthan Royals v Deccan Chargers
May 12th 2008 05:49
HYDERABAD 8/140 (Gilchrist 61, Rao 23 - Warne 2/20 Watson 1/22 Y.Pathan 1/19)
RAJASTHAN 2/141 (Y.Pathan 68, Smith 40 - RP Singh 1/24)
RAJASTHAN wins by 8 wickets with 24 balls to spare
Rajasthan bounced back from their last game with a comprehensive thrashing of their own.
Hyderabad's much vaunted middle order again failed after Adam Gilchrist game them a terrific flying start. The likes of Gibbs, Afridi and Styris have been very dissappointing.
As with all their games Rajasthan was served by master leg spinner and captain Shane Warne taking wickets and bowling economically and was ably backed up by all rounders Pathan and Watson.
Pathan backed up with a sensational performance opening the batting - his all round efforts winning him the man of the match award. He got assistance at the top of the order from South African skipper Greame Smith.
Rajasthan have almost booked themselves a position in the final series. Where the hapless Deccan Chargers are just about finished in this competition despite spending the most money on players - the Rajasthan Royals spent the least!!!
